Confirm where the subscription was purchased
Open iPhone Settings, tap your name and open Subscriptions. If ChatGPT appears there, Apple manages the billing. If it does not appear, check whether the plan was purchased on the ChatGPT website or under a different Apple Account.
Deleting ChatGPT does not cancel an active subscription. Cancellation must be completed through the billing channel that originally sold the plan.
Cancel from iPhone Settings
In Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose ChatGPT and tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll to find the button. Review the confirmation screen carefully before leaving.
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select ChatGPT.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
How to know cancellation succeeded
After cancellation, the subscription screen should show an expiration date or indicate that renewal is no longer active. Apple notes that if there is no cancel button, or an expiration message is already shown, the subscription may already be canceled.
Access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period. Record the date shown by Apple and keep the confirmation email or screenshot for your own records.
Cancellation and refunds are separate
Stopping future renewal does not automatically reverse a completed charge. Refund eligibility and requests follow the rules of the billing provider. For an App Store purchase, use Apple's purchase and support channels; for a web purchase, use the provider's web billing support.
