How Price Atlas collects and compares prices

A transparent summary of our App Store collection, normalization and currency conversion process.

App Store sources

App names, icons, descriptions, regional availability and in-app purchase prices are collected from publicly accessible Apple App Store pages and lookup responses.

Currency conversion

Converted prices use reference foreign-exchange data from Frankfurter, with Open Exchange Rates-compatible public data as a fallback. CNY is the comparison base and rates are cached to reduce unnecessary requests.

Updates and coverage

Prices are refreshed when pages are requested and cached for stability. Coverage depends on whether Apple exposes an app and its products in each storefront, so region counts can vary by app and plan.

Known limitations

Displayed conversions are estimates. Apple can change prices, product names or availability without notice, and local taxes, account location, promotions and payment rules may change the final charge.
