The two checkout channels are separate
An App Store subscription is sold through Apple and attached to an Apple Account. A web subscription is sold through the provider's billing system. Even when both unlock the same service, they may use different prices, currencies, renewal terms or promotions.
Compare the complete offer
Do not compare only the first number you see. Confirm the plan name, billing period, tax treatment, trial, renewal price and included benefits.
- Check whether tax is included.
- Compare the post-trial renewal amount.
- Verify that purchases work across all of your devices.
- Note which company manages cancellation and refunds.
Choose the channel you can manage
A small price difference may be less important than payment-method availability, consolidated Apple billing or access to a provider's direct support. Record where you purchased the subscription because renewal and cancellation must usually be managed through that same channel.
